If you are playing NBL27 SuperCoach, the fixture is not background information. It is part of player value.
When an NBL team plays twice in a SuperCoach round, both games count. Your captain scores double, bench players still contribute half of their individual totals, and you only have two standard trades per round. That means the best SuperCoach team is not simply the 10 players with the highest projected per-game averages.
You need to know who plays twice, when the doubles arrive and where the schedule creates a trade or captaincy window.
This is the Buckets NBL27 SuperCoach fixture guide, beginning with the crucial first seven rounds. We have checked every game against the official NBL27 schedule and mapped each team's round-by-round game count.
For player quality, pair this guide with our NBL27 SuperCoach Top 50 rankings. For cap structure, use the NBL27 SuperCoach cheapies guide. And for the latest preseason role movement, see our NBL27 SuperCoach Blitz winners and losers.
How to read the table: 2 = double-game round, 1 = one game. No team has a zero-game round across Rounds 1-7.
NBL27 SuperCoach fixture: game counts for Rounds 1-7

This immediately tells us two things.
First, New Zealand and South East Melbourne are the only Round 1 double teams.
Second, the best seven-round schedule is not owned by one club. Adelaide, Cairns, Illawarra, Melbourne and New Zealand each have four double-game rounds in the first seven.
NBL27 SuperCoach Round 1 double-game teams
New Zealand Breakers - 2 games
New Zealand opens against Illawarra, then plays Brisbane in the same SuperCoach round.
That makes the Breakers one of the first teams to examine when building a starting squad.
The premium implication is obvious: Parker Jackson-Cartwright has two opportunities to generate points, assists and steals in Round 1. If you were already choosing between PJC and a similarly priced one-game guard, schedule pushes the Breakers star upward.
The same logic applies lower down the list:
New Zealand then doubles again in Rounds 3, 5 and 7, giving it four doubles through the first seven rounds.
That is one of the best early SuperCoach schedules in NBL27.
South East Melbourne Phoenix - 2 games
The Phoenix plays Perth and Tasmania in Round 1.
That is a major reason Hunter Goodrick sits No. 1 in our NBL27 SuperCoach cheapies rankings. A $69,000 FWD/CTR playing twice is a different proposition from a cheap bench player with one game.
At the premium end, Nathan Sobey and Skylar Mays are the obvious beneficiaries. Jordan Hunter, D'Shawn Schwartz and Akech Aliir also get two scoring opportunities immediately.
The catch is that South East Melbourne has only three doubles across Rounds 1-7: Rounds 1, 3 and 5.
So the Phoenix is an excellent Round 1 target without having the single best longer early-season schedule.
NBL27 SuperCoach Round 2 double-game teams
Round 2 belongs to:
- Adelaide
- Cairns
- Illawarra
- Perth
This is the start of the most important three-round stretch in the early season.
Adelaide, Cairns and Illawarra all double in Rounds 2, 3 and 4.
That creates an obvious SuperCoach principle: if you want a premium from one of those clubs, starting with them or trading into them before Round 2 can give you three consecutive double rounds.
Adelaide: the Bryce Cotton window begins
The official SuperCoach price reveal has already highlighted Adelaide's doubles in Rounds 2, 3, 4 and 7.
Bryce Cotton is our No. 1 player in the NBL27 SuperCoach Top 50, and this is why his $473,900 price can still be justified.
A captain receives double their SuperCoach score. A double-game captain gets two games, with both scores counting, then the weekly captaincy multiplier applies to their total.
That creates a ceiling few single-game players can match.
It also makes Adelaide supporting players more interesting:
You do not need every Adelaide player. But you should have a plan for their Rounds 2-4 run.
Cairns: four doubles and an injury-created cheapie
Cairns also doubles in Rounds 2, 3, 4 and 7.
Jack McVeigh and Keanu Pinder are the premium names, while Reyne Smith is a breakout candidate.
The cheapie implication is Shaun Bruce. Luke Paul is expected to miss six to eight weeks with an ankle injury, and Bruce scored 36 SuperCoach points in 34 minutes at the Blitz against Perth.
If Bruce holds meaningful backup point-guard minutes, his $76,500 price and Cairns' early fixture line up beautifully.
Illawarra: a deep fantasy team with a great schedule
Illawarra doubles in Rounds 2, 3, 4 and 6.
Milton Doyle, William Hickey and Tyler Harvey all have proven scoring or playmaking profiles, while Sam Froling and the Hawks' new frontcourt pieces create options at forward and centre.
The tricky part is usage. Illawarra is deep enough that several players can have strong real-life games without one dominating fantasy scoring.
The schedule reduces that concern. Two games give volume a chance to win even when usage is shared.
Perth: useful Round 2, weaker seven-round total
Perth doubles in Round 2, but this is the Wildcats' only double until Round 7.
That is a major contrast with Adelaide, Cairns and Illawarra.
Elijah Pepper's Blitz rise is real, and Kristian Doolittle and Jo Lual-Acuil Jr remain proven fantasy players. But if two similarly rated players are fighting for your last premium slot, Perth's early schedule is a legitimate tiebreaker against them.
NBL27 SuperCoach Round 3: the monster double round
Round 3 is the first huge SuperCoach slate.
Eight of the 10 NBL teams play twice.
The only single-game teams are:
- Perth Wildcats
- Sydney Kings
Every other club doubles:
- Adelaide
- Brisbane
- Cairns
- Illawarra
- Melbourne
- New Zealand
- South East Melbourne
- Tasmania
This is not a round where you want to discover on Tuesday night that half your expensive players have only one game.
It is also a round where captaincy becomes extremely schedule-sensitive. A premium double-game player has such a large volume advantage that a single-game captain needs a very strong matchup or specific reason to compete.
Early planning note: if you begin with several Perth/Sydney premiums, Round 3 is the first point where the fixture can punish a talent-only squad.
NBL27 SuperCoach Round 4 double-game teams
Round 4 doubles:
- Adelaide
- Cairns
- Illawarra
- Melbourne
This completes three consecutive doubles for Adelaide, Cairns and Illawarra.
Melbourne also begins to become especially attractive. United doubles in Rounds 3 and 4, then again in Rounds 6 and 7.
If Cole Anthony, Luke Travers, Josh Oduro, Joe Ingles, Shea Ili and Sam Waardenburg are healthy and their roles are clear, Melbourne has a powerful schedule from Round 3 onward.
The health caveat matters. Anthony and Ingles missed the Blitz, while Waardenburg and Ili were hurt in the final. Read our NBL27 SuperCoach Blitz winners and losers before treating every United double as an automatic buy.
NBL27 SuperCoach Round 5 double-game teams
Round 5 doubles:
- New Zealand
- South East Melbourne
- Sydney
- Tasmania
This is an important shift.
Adelaide, Cairns and Illawarra return to one game. Sydney, which has single games in each of Rounds 1-4, finally gets its first double.
That could be a natural point to target:
Tasmania also begins a useful every-other-round pattern with doubles in Rounds 3, 5 and 7.
Taran Armstrong's role at the Blitz makes that especially interesting.
NBL27 SuperCoach Round 6 double-game teams
Round 6 doubles:
- Brisbane
- Illawarra
- Melbourne
- Sydney
This is Illawarra's fourth double in five rounds from Round 2 onward.
It is also Sydney's second consecutive double, which means a Round 5 trade into a Kings premium can potentially capture four games across two SuperCoach rounds.
Melbourne's second-half early schedule also starts to bite: Rounds 6 and 7 are back-to-back doubles.
NBL27 SuperCoach Round 7: another monster round
Round 7 has nine NBL games.
Eight teams double:
- Adelaide
- Brisbane
- Cairns
- Melbourne
- New Zealand
- Perth
- Sydney
- Tasmania
Only two teams have a single game:
- Illawarra
- South East Melbourne
The round finishes with Melbourne v New Zealand on Monday 2 November, which is important because both clubs already play earlier in the round.
This is the second huge schedule week after Round 3.
By Round 7, most teams will have moved substantially in price and we will have more form data, but the principle remains: schedule should be planned before the trade deadline, not noticed after lockout.
Which NBL27 teams have the most early double-game rounds?
Five teams lead with four doubles through Round 7:
Adelaide 36ers - 4 doubles
Rounds 2, 3, 4, 7
Best early premium/captain target: Bryce Cotton
Other relevant names: Zylan Cheatham, Flynn Cameron, Isaac Humphries, Nick Rakocevic.
Why we like it: Three consecutive doubles from Rounds 2-4 is the strongest concentrated run on the schedule.
Cairns Taipans - 4 doubles
Rounds 2, 3, 4, 7
Best premium targets: Jack McVeigh, Keanu Pinder
Value/cheapie watch: Reyne Smith, Shaun Bruce
Why we like it: Same concentrated R2-4 run as Adelaide, plus Round 7.
Illawarra Hawks - 4 doubles
Rounds 2, 3, 4, 6
Best premium targets: William Hickey, Milton Doyle, Tyler Harvey
Why we like it: Four doubles inside five rounds from R2-R6.
Main risk: A very deep roster can spread usage.
Melbourne United - 4 doubles
Rounds 3, 4, 6, 7
Best current target: Luke Travers
Other relevant names: Cole Anthony, Josh Oduro, Joe Ingles, Shea Ili, Sam Waardenburg, Chris Goulding.
Why we like it: Back-to-back doubles in R3-4 and again R6-7.
Main risk: Health and role clarity on the deepest roster in the league.
New Zealand Breakers - 4 doubles
Rounds 1, 3, 5, 7
Best premium target: Parker Jackson-Cartwright
Other relevant names: Charles Bediako, Sam Mennenga, Dejan Vasiljevic.
Why we like it: The only four-double team whose first double arrives in Round 1.
Main risk: Frontcourt roles still need final preseason confirmation.
Teams with three doubles through Round 7
Brisbane Bullets
Doubles in Rounds 3, 6, 7.
The early schedule is slower, but R6-7 back-to-back doubles create a future trade window.
Key names: Tyrell Harrison, Arnas Velička, Nate Hinton, Jaylin Williams, Max Mackinnon.
South East Melbourne Phoenix
Doubles in Rounds 1, 3, 5.
The Round 1 double makes the Phoenix more valuable for starting squads than the raw total of three suggests.
Key names: Nathan Sobey, Skylar Mays, Jordan Hunter, Hunter Goodrick.
Sydney Kings
Doubles in Rounds 5, 6, 7.
This is the most back-loaded early fixture.
The Kings have one game in each of the first four rounds, then three consecutive doubles.
Key names: Kendric Davis, Xavier Cooks, Torrey Craig.
Strategy implication: you may not need to start every Sydney premium. R5 can become a deliberate buy point.
Tasmania JackJumpers
Doubles in Rounds 3, 5, 7.
Taran Armstrong's Blitz performances make the schedule especially useful because the doubles are spaced consistently.
Key names: Taran Armstrong, Josh Bannan, Will Magnay, David Johnson.
Perth Wildcats: the early fixture warning
Perth has only two doubles through Round 7:
- Round 2
- Round 7
That is the lowest total in the league over this span.
This does not mean "do not pick Wildcats". A great player can still beat a weaker player with two games, especially if price and role are favourable.
It does mean the fixture should be built into your expectations.
Elijah Pepper is a Blitz riser. Kristian Doolittle and Jo Lual-Acuil Jr are proven. But if you are paying premium money, you need to be comfortable accepting fewer double opportunities while other clubs rack them up.
Are there NBL27 SuperCoach byes in the first seven rounds?
There are no zero-game team rounds across Rounds 1-7.
Every club plays at least once in every SuperCoach round in this opening stretch.
That simplifies starting-squad planning. The key distinction is not "game versus bye"; it is one game versus two.
Later in the season, always re-check the official fixture rather than assuming this pattern continues.
Best NBL27 SuperCoach captaincy schedule
Captaincy magnifies the fixture because your chosen captain receives double their score.
Our early schedule shortlist:
R1: Parker Jackson-Cartwright or a South East Melbourne premium
New Zealand and South East Melbourne are the only double teams.
PJC is the cleanest elite option if you own him.
R2-R4: Bryce Cotton becomes the schedule monster
Adelaide has three consecutive doubles.
Cotton averaged 45.7 SuperCoach points per game in NBL26 and remains our No. 1 overall player. Giving that profile two games in each of three straight rounds is the defining early captaincy run.
Cairns and Illawarra premiums also have the same double sequence.
R5: New Zealand, SEM, Sydney or Tasmania
This is Sydney's first double, making Kendric Davis and Xavier Cooks much more attractive captaincy candidates.
PJC is back on a double too.
R6: Illawarra, Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane
Doyle/Hickey, Travers/Oduro and Davis/Cooks all have strong schedule cases.
R7: almost everybody
Eight teams double, so raw player quality becomes a larger tiebreaker again.
How to use double-game rounds for trades
SuperCoach gives you two standard trades per round, with four Trade Boosts available across the season.
That makes fixture timing important.
A good fixture trade is not:
"This player has two games, therefore buy."
A better process is:
- Is the player good enough at their price?
- Is their role stable?
- Does the double begin a multi-round run?
- Are you trading out a player whose schedule is getting worse?
- Can the incoming player stay in your team after the double?
The best early example is Adelaide/Cairns/Illawarra before Round 2. Those clubs do not just double once. They double in three consecutive rounds.
That is the kind of schedule run worth planning around.

Bench players also contribute 50 per cent of their individual score, making doubles relevant beyond the starting lineup.
Should I select a worse player just because they have a double?
No.
Fixture is a multiplier on player quality, role and price. It should break close decisions and identify trade windows, not override every other part of analysis.
