Updated: 6 September 2026
Looking for the best NBL27 SuperCoach players before the 2026-27 season tips off? This is the Buckets Top 50: a preseason power ranking of the players we expect to produce the strongest SuperCoach NBL scores across NBL27.
These are not simply the 50 most expensive players in the game. Official SuperCoach prices and NBL26 output are our starting point, but the rankings also factor in expected role, minutes, usage, scoring profile, offseason roster changes, position competition and what we have seen through the NBL27 preseason and CODE Sports NBL Blitz.
For anyone searching NBL SuperCoach rankings, NBL27 fantasy rankings, SuperCoach NBL27 players, best NBL SuperCoach picks or NBL fantasy basketball rankings, bookmark this page. We will keep updating it as roles settle before Round 1.
Important: These are overall player power rankings, not a salary-cap value list. A cheaper player can be a much better Classic selection than somebody ranked above them. Our separate NBL27 SuperCoach cheapies and value rankings will focus on price.
How the Buckets NBL27 SuperCoach rankings work
We use the official SuperCoach NBL scoring system as the baseline:
- Two-point field goal: 2 points
- Three-point field goal: 3 points
- Free throw: 1 point
- Rebound: 1 point
- Assist: 2 points
- Block: 3 points
- Steal: 3 points
- Turnover: -2 points
- Double-double: +5 points
- Triple-double: +10 points instead of the double-double bonus
That scoring system rewards usage, assists, defensive playmaking and double-double upside. There is no penalty for missed field goals, which matters when comparing high-volume guards with lower-usage efficiency players.
Our ranking formula is simple:
role + minutes + usage + category production + SuperCoach scoring history + NBL27 context
Known long-term absences are excluded. That matters already, with players such as Bryce Hamilton, Keli Leaupepe and Bul Kuol carrying major injury concerns into NBL27.

1. Bryce Cotton - Adelaide 36ers
SuperCoach price: $473,900 | Position: GRD
Bryce Cotton remains the starting point for every serious NBL27 SuperCoach ranking.
Cotton averaged 45.7 SuperCoach points per game in NBL26 and opens NBL27 as the most expensive player in the competition. That price is justified. He is still Adelaide's offensive centrepiece, still an elite volume scorer, still gets to the line and still creates enough assists to turn ordinary scoring nights into solid fantasy scores.
The only slight concern is minutes. Trevor Gleeson has already said Cotton will not be asked to play the massive workload he carried last season, when he led the league at more than 38 minutes per game. That may shave a little off the floor, but the preseason evidence suggests the efficiency and usage will remain. Cotton dropped 22 points in just 17 minutes against Cairns at the Blitz.
For Classic, his early schedule matters just as much as his raw average. Adelaide has multiple early double-game rounds, making Cotton an obvious captaincy weapon.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Clear No. 1. If you are running a Buckets draft using SuperCoach scoring, Cotton should be the first player selected.
2. Kendric Davis - Sydney Kings
SuperCoach price: $436,000 | Position: GRD
Kendric Davis averaged 42.03 SuperCoach points per game in NBL26 and now enters his second season with the defending champion Sydney Kings.
Davis missed the Blitz while dealing with a passport issue, so there is less fresh data than we would like. It does not materially change the projection. He is a high-usage point guard in a loaded offence, creates his own shot, gets downhill and produces premium assist numbers.
The only reason he sits behind Cotton is certainty. Cotton's role is virtually impossible to dent. Sydney has Xavier Cooks, Torrey Craig and Matthew Dellavedova around Davis, so there are more mouths to feed.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Top-two lock and the best alternative if somebody else owns Cotton.
3. Parker Jackson-Cartwright - New Zealand Breakers
SuperCoach price: $405,200 | Position: GRD
Parker Jackson-Cartwright is one of the most dependable fantasy guards in the NBL because his SuperCoach game is not dependent on one category.
PJC scores, assists, steals and handles the ball enough to control his own fantasy output. The Breakers have added Dejan Vasiljevic, Josiah-Jordan James and Charles Bediako, but Jackson-Cartwright remains the organiser.
For NBL SuperCoach, that combination of usage and assists is gold. Turnovers can bite, but the ceiling remains enormous.
Buckets Draft Verdict: First-round cornerstone.
4. Nathan Sobey - South East Melbourne Phoenix
SuperCoach price: $379,600 | Position: GRD
Nathan Sobey remains the Phoenix's established local star, even after the arrival of Skylar Mays.
His Blitz opener was quiet by Sobey standards at 20 SuperCoach points in 26 minutes, but the role itself looked healthy: 10 points, seven assists and four rebounds. That is actually a useful reminder of why Sobey ranks this highly. He can score below his average and still contribute through assists and peripheral stats.
Mays will absorb ball-handling, which creates some usage risk, but it may also help Sobey play more efficiently.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Still an elite guard. Do not overreact to a low-volume preseason outing.
5. Jack McVeigh - Cairns Taipans
SuperCoach price: $349,800 | Position: FWD
Jack McVeigh should have one of the clearest star roles in NBL27.
Cairns has retooled around McVeigh, Keanu Pinder and Reyne Smith. The Blitz has not been spectacular statistically for McVeigh, but nobody should confuse preseason box scores with his regular-season workload. Last season he was second in the league for minutes behind Cotton.
McVeigh scores in volume, rebounds well for a wing and has enough playmaking responsibility to build scores without needing defensive-stat luck.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Our No. 1 forward entering NBL27.
6. Zylan Cheatham - Adelaide 36ers
SuperCoach price: $339,500 | Position: FWD
If you want the archetype of a SuperCoach-friendly forward, Zylan Cheatham is close to perfect.
He rebounds at a premium level, can score without dominating possession and has genuine double-double upside. At the Blitz against Illawarra he produced 16 points, 15 rebounds and three assists, exactly the kind of multi-category line that explodes under SuperCoach scoring.
Adelaide's depth means he may not always need to score 20, but he does not have to.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Safer fantasy profile than many higher-usage scorers.
7. Tyrell Harrison - Brisbane Bullets
SuperCoach price: $336,100 | Position: CTR
Tyrell Harrison may be the best pure centre target in NBL27 SuperCoach.
His Blitz opener was a warning shot: 28 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals against Tasmania. Big men already benefit from rebounds, blocks and the +5 double-double bonus. A centre who can also finish plays at Harrison's rate has a massive ceiling.
Brisbane's roster has changed heavily, but Harrison's interior role is one of the clearest jobs on the team.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Centre scarcity pushes him into the top tier.
8. Xavier Cooks - Sydney Kings
SuperCoach price: $308,000 | Position: FWD
Xavier Cooks is one of the most complete SuperCoach forwards available.
The raw scoring can vary in Sydney's deep roster, but rebounds, assists, defensive stats and transition scoring give him multiple paths to a strong fantasy night. He posted 27 SuperCoach points in only 25 minutes in Sydney's Blitz opener despite the Kings missing several stars.
Cooks also carries triple-double style upside that very few NBL forwards can match.
Buckets Draft Verdict: We are higher than the official price order. His all-category production travels.
9. Jo Lual-Acuil Jr - Perth Wildcats
SuperCoach price: $318,100 | Position: CTR
Jo Lual-Acuil Jr has the physical and statistical profile to sit among the NBL27 SuperCoach centre leaders.
The concern is Perth's roster construction. The Wildcats are still resolving their point guard situation, and their preseason offence has looked unsettled. Lual-Acuil managed only 19 SuperCoach points in 23 Blitz minutes against Cairns.
That does not erase the ceiling. Rebounds, rim protection and efficient scoring keep him firmly in the premium group.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Top-10 talent, with a little more team-context risk than Harrison.
10. Kristian Doolittle - Perth Wildcats
SuperCoach price: $317,500 | Position: FWD
Kristian Doolittle is another player whose preseason numbers should be read in context.
He had only 13 SuperCoach points in 29 minutes in Perth's first Blitz game, but his role as a rebounding, playmaking forward remains valuable. If the Wildcats settle their backcourt, Doolittle should benefit from a cleaner offensive environment.
His floor comes from doing a little bit of everything.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Premium forward, though we have Cheatham and Cooks ahead of him.
11. William Hickey - Illawarra Hawks
SuperCoach price: $331,600 | Position: GRD
Davo Hickey is one of the most fascinating NBL27 SuperCoach players.
Milton Doyle has arrived and Tyler Harvey remains, so there is legitimate concern about backcourt usage. Then Hickey goes to the Blitz and keeps stuffing every column: 12 points, seven assists and six rebounds against Adelaide, then 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists against Melbourne.
His SuperCoach game is built for exactly this format.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Slightly lower than his official price rank because of backcourt competition, but the floor remains excellent.
12. Josh Bannan - Tasmania JackJumpers
SuperCoach price: $317,500 | Position: FWD
Josh Bannan is not the flashiest player in the top 20, which is part of the appeal.
He rebounds, scores efficiently and fits Tasmania's structured system. The addition of Taran Armstrong should create easier looks rather than remove Bannan from the offence.
If Tasmania returns to being a stronger team overall, Bannan is well placed to deliver one of the safest forward profiles in the competition.
Buckets Draft Verdict: High-floor second-round type.
13. Taran Armstrong - Tasmania JackJumpers
SuperCoach price: $304,700 | Position: GRD
Taran Armstrong is one of our favourite NBL27 fantasy bets.
His first Blitz appearance for Tasmania produced 25 points and seven assists despite the JackJumpers missing a pile of senior players. Armstrong has the ball, the speed and the passing role to put up premium SuperCoach scores quickly.
There will be turnover-heavy nights. That is the tax you pay for a ball-dominant creator. The upside is worth it.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Aggressive ranking, but the role screams fantasy breakout.
14. Luke Travers - Melbourne United
SuperCoach price: $292,900 | Position: GRD/FWD
Luke Travers has been one of the strongest preseason signals in the league.
Before the Blitz, he posted 19 points, 12 rebounds and six assists against B.LEAGUE United. Against Illawarra on the final day of the Blitz he added 13 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.
That is an absurdly SuperCoach-friendly stat profile.
Melbourne's depth is the only reason Travers is not even higher. Cole Anthony, Joe Ingles, Chris Goulding and Josh Oduro will all use possessions.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Dual-position gold and one of the safest bets to beat his launch price rank.
15. Keanu Pinder - Cairns Taipans
SuperCoach price: $300,000 | Position: FWD/CTR
Keanu Pinder returns to the NBL in a frontcourt that should allow him to play fast and attack the glass.
He scored 28 SuperCoach points in 28 minutes against Perth at the Blitz. The presence of Jack McVeigh and Jonah Bolden may lower his raw usage on some nights, but Pinder has long been able to score fantasy points through rebounds, athletic finishing and defensive events.
Dual-position FWD/CTR eligibility makes him even more useful in Classic.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Excellent roster flexibility with top-10 upside.
16. Cole Anthony - Melbourne United
SuperCoach price: $300,000 | Position: GRD
Cole Anthony is the hardest player in the top 20 to rank.
The NBA pedigree is obvious. So is the scoring talent. But SuperCoach is not an NBA resume contest, and Melbourne has the deepest collection of high-level offensive options in the NBL.
Anthony also entered preseason still building fitness and did not feature in Melbourne's opening Blitz game.
If he owns the ball for 30-plus minutes, this ranking could look conservative very quickly. If Melbourne spreads the load, he may be a better real-life player than fantasy asset.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Massive ceiling, wider range of outcomes than the guards above him.
17. Sam Mennenga - New Zealand Breakers
SuperCoach price: $303,100 | Position: FWD/CTR
Sam Mennenga's dual-position status and frontcourt role make him immediately interesting.
He missed New Zealand's opening Blitz game with an ankle issue, so monitor health closely. When fit, Mennenga has the combination of scoring and rebounding needed to hit the double-double bonus, especially with PJC creating.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Premium big if healthy.
18. Milton Doyle - Illawarra Hawks
SuperCoach price: $274,700
Milton Doyle averaged 26.48 SuperCoach points last season and has looked completely comfortable in Illawarra.
His first Blitz game featured 23 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals, plus the game winner. In the loss to Melbourne he added 19 points, six rebounds and three assists.
There is competition with Harvey and Hickey, but Doyle's scoring and playmaking role is undeniable.
Buckets Draft Verdict: One of the best mid-price premium bets in the league.
19. Skylar Mays - South East Melbourne Phoenix
SuperCoach price: $277,000
Skylar Mays looked ready immediately in Phoenix colours.
Against Sydney he had 13 points, six assists and five rebounds for 29 SuperCoach points in just 24 minutes. The key is the assists. If Mays is the primary organiser while Sobey attacks more as a scorer, both guards can work.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Strong chance to outperform the standard import starting price.
20. Torrey Craig - Sydney Kings
SuperCoach price: $290,400 | Position: FWD
Torrey Craig's value comes from a broad stat line rather than pure usage.
Sydney will not need him to dominate the ball, but scoring, rebounding and defensive stats all count. The risk is that the Kings are so deep that Craig can play an excellent real-life game without creating a monster fantasy total.
Buckets Draft Verdict: Safe premium forward with a slightly capped ceiling.
NBL27 SuperCoach rankings 21-30
21. Josh Oduro - Melbourne United
Oduro's 22-point, nine-rebound, two-steal Blitz performance against Illawarra pushed him up our board. Centre minutes in this Melbourne team can still be highly productive even with elite players around him.
22. Flynn Cameron - Adelaide 36ers
Cameron looked like a genuine breakout star against Illawarra with 27 points, six rebounds and six assists. Cotton remains the engine, but Cameron has enough role and all-round production to become a serious NBL27 SuperCoach riser.
23. Tyler Harvey - Illawarra Hawks
Harvey averaged 26.19 SuperCoach points last season and is now an Australian, helping Illawarra's roster flexibility. Doyle and Hickey create usage competition, but Harvey remains an elite shooter with playmaking upside.
24. Dylan Windler - Perth Wildcats
Windler's combination of size, shooting and rebounding remains appealing. Perth's unsettled guard situation creates some uncertainty, but also potential for Windler to absorb more creation.
25. Isaac Humphries - Adelaide 36ers
Humphries remains a high-efficiency centre with block upside. The presence of Nick Rakocevic creates more frontcourt competition, so his minutes ceiling matters.
26. Dejan Vasiljevic - New Zealand Breakers
Vasiljevic changes teams but lands beside Parker Jackson-Cartwright, which should create clean scoring opportunities. He is more scoring-dependent than the players above him but still has premium hot-streak potential.
27. Jordan Hunter - South East Melbourne Phoenix
Hunter is a reliable starting centre on a strong team. Rebounds, efficient interior scoring and double-double potential keep him in the upper fantasy tier.
28. Elijah Pepper - Perth Wildcats
Pepper was one of the most eye-catching players of the Blitz, posting 40 SuperCoach points in 33 minutes against Cairns. Perth still has roster questions, but that may create exactly the volume Pepper needs.
29. Sam Froling - Illawarra Hawks
Froling averaged 22.0 SuperCoach points across 15 games last season. The arrival of Darius Days and other frontcourt options adds competition, but healthy starting-centre minutes should keep Froling relevant.
30. Jaylin Williams - Brisbane Bullets
Williams arrives from the G League into a Brisbane team rebuilding its entire identity. His ability to score and rebound from the four gives him clear fantasy upside.
NBL27 SuperCoach rankings 31-40
31. Nate Hinton - Brisbane Bullets
Hinton profiles as the type of import SuperCoach players should watch closely: athletic, active and capable of contributing rebounds and defensive stats without needing 20 shots.
32. Arnas Velička - Brisbane Bullets
The likely starting point guard has an obvious path to assists and usage. With a new coach and a mostly new roster, there is volatility, but the fantasy role is there.
33. D'Shawn Schwartz - South East Melbourne Phoenix
Schwartz sits in a strong Phoenix system and should play meaningful forward minutes. Mays and Sobey carry more creation, which may allow Schwartz to focus on efficient scoring and boards.
34. Reyne Smith - Cairns Taipans
Smith's shooting volume makes him dangerous in a scoring system with no penalty for missed field goals. He had 28 SuperCoach points against Perth at the Blitz and looks set for a larger role in NBL27.
35. Joe Ingles - Melbourne United
Ingles is one of the biggest names in the competition, but name recognition is not the same as fantasy certainty. Melbourne can use him as a passer, shooter and connector without requiring massive minutes or usage. His assist profile keeps him relevant, but we are more cautious than the $300,000 launch price.
36. Nick Rakocevic - Adelaide 36ers
Rakocevic showed his fantasy appeal with 10 points, 13 rebounds and three assists against Cairns. If he gets enough minutes alongside or behind Humphries, the rebounding alone can produce useful scores.
37. Chris Goulding - Melbourne United
Goulding can still blow up any slate with three-point volume. The issue is the number of other scorers around him. He remains more valuable in rounds where Melbourne has a strong schedule than as a set-and-forget overall premium.
38. Jaylon Brown - Cairns Taipans
Brown is expected to lead much of Cairns' ball-handling when healthy. A primary import point guard on a team featuring McVeigh and Pinder has an obvious assist pathway.
39. Sam Waardenburg - Melbourne United
Waardenburg has already shown strong preseason chemistry with Travers. Rebounds, mobility and secondary playmaking make him a better fantasy fit than pure points-per-game analysis suggests.
40. Jonah Bolden - Cairns Taipans
Bolden has centre/forward fantasy traits and can produce blocks, rebounds and threes. The question is minutes in a frontcourt already containing Pinder and McVeigh.
NBL27 SuperCoach rankings 41-50
41. Akech Aliir - South East Melbourne Phoenix
Aliir was one of the opening-night Blitz standouts with 37 SuperCoach points in only 19 minutes. That rate will not continue, but the performance demands attention.
42. Kelan Martin - Illawarra Hawks
Martin gives Illawarra another scorer and rebounder at forward. The Hawks are deep, so he needs to prove the minutes are there, but the fantasy skill set is obvious.
43. Darius Days - Illawarra Hawks
Days adds another big body and scoring option to the Hawks. He is a role watch through the remaining preseason.
44. Max Mackinnon - Brisbane Bullets
Mackinnon announced himself at the Blitz with 26 points and four made threes against Tasmania. Rookie volatility is real, but his role could grow quickly if he keeps forcing Will Weaver's hand.
45. Yannis Morin - South East Melbourne Phoenix
Morin has the size and dual-position profile to become useful in SuperCoach. His competition for frontcourt production with Hunter and Aliir is the question.
46. Matthew Dellavedova - Sydney Kings
Dellavedova no longer needs to carry a huge scoring load, but assists, steals and control of the offence can still create useful fantasy nights. Sydney's depth lowers the ceiling.
47. Angus Glover - South East Melbourne Phoenix
Glover remains a reliable rotation guard who can score and contribute assists without needing to monopolise the ball. He is more interesting in deeper formats than as a Classic premium.
48. Charles Bediako - New Zealand Breakers
Bediako is a fascinating NBL27 SuperCoach centre watch. If he wins a strong share of the starting-centre minutes, rebounding and blocks could move him up this list rapidly.
49. Shea Ili - Melbourne United
Ili's defence is elite and steals are worth three SuperCoach points, but Melbourne's offensive depth limits his scoring and assist volume. He remains capable of beating this ranking on the right nights.
50. Andrew Carr - Sydney Kings
Carr rounds out the Top 50 because Sydney has a genuine centre opening after Tim Soares' departure. The Kings are deep, but starting or high-level reserve centre minutes beside Cooks and Davis could produce efficient fantasy scoring.
Best NBL27 SuperCoach guards
If you only want the short version, our leading NBL27 SuperCoach guard rankings are:
- Bryce Cotton
- Kendric Davis
- Parker Jackson-Cartwright
- Nathan Sobey
- William Hickey
- Taran Armstrong
- Cole Anthony
- Milton Doyle
- Skylar Mays
- Tyler Harvey
Cotton remains the best combination of scoring ceiling, role and schedule. Armstrong and Mays are the two guards most likely to make a major jump once NBL27 begins.
Best NBL27 SuperCoach forwards
Our leading NBL27 SuperCoach forward rankings are:
- Jack McVeigh
- Zylan Cheatham
- Xavier Cooks
- Kristian Doolittle
- Josh Bannan
- Luke Travers
- Torrey Craig
- Dylan Windler
- Jaylin Williams
- D'Shawn Schwartz
Travers is the player most likely to climb. His preseason stat lines have been ridiculously fantasy-friendly.
Best NBL27 SuperCoach centres
Our leading NBL27 SuperCoach centre rankings are:
- Tyrell Harrison
- Jo Lual-Acuil Jr
- Keanu Pinder
- Sam Mennenga
- Josh Oduro
- Isaac Humphries
- Jordan Hunter

- Yannis Morin

Centre is where SuperCoach scoring can get fun. Rebounds, blocks and double-double bonuses can turn high-minute bigs into weekly match-winners.
Who is the best player in NBL27 SuperCoach?
Right now, Bryce Cotton is the No. 1 player in our NBL27 SuperCoach rankings.
He led NBL26 at 45.7 SuperCoach points per game, retains Adelaide's primary scoring role and has multiple early double-game rounds that make him especially valuable as a captain.
Kendric Davis and Parker Jackson-Cartwright are the strongest alternatives at guard, while Jack McVeigh is our No. 1 forward and Tyrell Harrison our No. 1 centre.
NBL27 SuperCoach sleepers to watch
If you are searching for NBL27 SuperCoach sleepers, our early shortlist is:
- Taran Armstrong
- Luke Travers
- Flynn Cameron
- Elijah Pepper
- Reyne Smith
- Akech Aliir
- Max Mackinnon
- Charles Bediako
- Nick Rakocevic
- Skylar Mays
These are not necessarily cheapies. They are players we believe can outperform their current market expectation or launch ranking.
A separate NBL27 SuperCoach sleepers and breakout players guide is coming next.
NBL27 SuperCoach cheapies
The best NBL27 SuperCoach cheapies are a different question from the Top 50 overall rankings.
For Classic, salary-cap value matters enormously. Players such as Hunter Goodrick, Johny Narkle, Matt Kenyon and Shaun Bruce can matter far more to your starting squad than their overall player rank suggests because they free enough cash to pay for stars like Cotton, Davis and McVeigh.
Our full NBL27 SuperCoach cheapies, cash cows and best value picks guide will rank those players separately.
NBL27 SuperCoach rankings FAQ
When does NBL27 SuperCoach start?
The first NBL27 SuperCoach lockout is Saturday, 19 September 2026 at 7:30pm AEST, when Melbourne United hosts the Adelaide 36ers.
How many players are in an NBL SuperCoach team?
SuperCoach NBL Classic uses 10 players: four guards, four forwards and two centres, under a $2 million salary cap.
Do NBL SuperCoach bench players score?
Yes. Bench players contribute 50 per cent of their individual SuperCoach points, which makes productive cheapies more important than dead roster spots.
Are double-game rounds important in NBL SuperCoach?
Extremely. A player who plays twice in a SuperCoach round has two opportunities to score, and captains receive double points. Schedule analysis should influence trades and captaincy throughout NBL27.
Are these rankings for SuperCoach Classic or Buckets Draft?
Both use the same SuperCoach scoring baseline, but the purpose is different.
For SuperCoach Classic, price, cash generation, double-game rounds and trades matter heavily.
For Buckets Draft, salary does not matter. You are ranking players by expected fantasy production and scarcity, then drafting against the other coaches in your league.
That is why a player can be an excellent Classic cheapie without appearing in the Top 50 overall, or a brilliant draft selection without being the best Classic value.
The Buckets take
NBL27 looks like an outstanding fantasy season because there is genuine uncertainty behind the established elite.
Cotton, Davis, PJC, Sobey and McVeigh give NBL SuperCoach players familiar premium anchors. The interesting part is underneath them: Armstrong in Tasmania, Travers and Anthony in Melbourne, Mays in South East Melbourne, Pinder back in Cairns, Doyle switching to Illawarra and a completely rebuilt Brisbane roster.
Those role changes are where fantasy leagues are won.
We will update these NBL27 SuperCoach rankings as the remaining preseason games, injuries and depth charts become clearer before Round 1.
If you prefer drafting players against your mates instead of squeezing them under a salary cap, Buckets uses the same familiar SuperCoach scoring baseline in a proper fantasy draft format. Build a league, draft your squad and own your players for the season.
