Scottie Wilbekin scored a game-high 24 points as Beşiktaş beat Baskonia 92-84 away on Friday, 9 October, returning to an even record after four EuroLeague games. Olympiacos also strengthened its early position with an 89-66 home victory over Anadolu Efes to move to 3-1.

Beşiktaş improved to 2-2, while Baskonia and Efes both finished the night at 1-3. The two wins followed different paths: Beşiktaş had to recover from a half-time deficit and close out a tight contest, whereas Olympiacos turned a four-point interval lead into a 23-point result.

Wilbekin’s six threes lead the road win

Wilbekin made six three-pointers in his 24-point performance, according to Eurohoops’ Round 4 report. His scoring total and status as the game’s leading scorer were also confirmed by DHA’s match report.

Beşiktaş started sharply, taking a 28-20 lead after the opening quarter. Baskonia answered with 31 points in the second period to move ahead 51-49 at half-time, putting the visitors’ strong start under pressure.

The response came across both ends of the floor. Beşiktaş won the third quarter 24-20 to reclaim the lead at 73-71, then held Baskonia to 13 points in the fourth while scoring 19 itself. That final period supplied the separation in a game that had remained within one possession entering the last quarter.

The contrast between Baskonia’s 31-point second quarter and 13-point fourth was central to the outcome. Wilbekin provided the headline scoring performance, but Beşiktaş’s ability to limit the hosts late ensured it translated into a win.

Chris Duarte led Baskonia with 23 points, just one fewer than Wilbekin. A.J. Lawson and Kenneth Faried added 10 apiece, as reported by Anadolu Agency.

For two teams that entered with identical 1-2 records, the result created an immediate gap: Beşiktaş left Spain level on wins and losses, while Baskonia took its third defeat.

Olympiacos pulls clear after half-time

Olympiacos’ final margin concealed a competitive first half. The hosts led 26-16 after one quarter, but Efes reduced the deficit to 35-31 by the interval.

That recovery did not carry into the second half. Olympiacos scored 27 points in each of the remaining quarters, leading 62-49 after three before extending the advantage through the fourth. The quarter-by-quarter progression was corroborated by Mackolik’s match report.

Olympiacos outscored Efes 54-35 after half-time. Rather than protecting a narrow lead, it increased its scoring output and won both second-half periods decisively.

The victory also restored winning momentum after Olympiacos’ previous-round defeat to Virtus, which Eurohoops identified as its first loss of the season. At 3-1, Olympiacos emerged with three wins from its opening four games; Efes was left with one.

Elsewhere in Round 4, Buckets has covered Žalgiris’ fourth-quarter comeback against Barcelona separately.
