NBL27 SuperCoach Round 6 Injury Report: Neto’s Debut Call, Brisbane’s Bigs and the Missing Stars

Brisbane’s double-game round hinges on Raul Neto’s possible debut and the unresolved ankle injuries to Tyrell Harrison and Jacob Holt. Adelaide still lack Isaac Humphries, while Dakota Mathias played through a nose procedure. Here is the verified Round 6 availability picture and the SuperCoach decisions it changes.

NBL27 SuperCoach Round 6 Injury Report: Neto's Debut Call, Brisbane's Bigs and the Missing Stars

Editorial cut-off: Monday 19 October 2026, 7.05 pm Adelaide time (ACDT). This is an early Round 6 availability report, not a confirmed game-day team sheet. Recheck club announcements before Wednesday's first tip-off and again before later fixtures.

Round 6 has a sharp divide between four clubs playing twice and six playing once. Brisbane, Illawarra, Melbourne United and Sydney each have two fixtures; Adelaide, Cairns, New Zealand, Perth, South East Melbourne and Tasmania have one. The official NBL fixture opens with Tasmania hosting Brisbane on Wednesday 21 October at 7.30 pm AEDT (7.00 pm Adelaide). Illawarra host Sydney on Thursday and Brisbane on Saturday; Melbourne visit Perth on Friday and host Sydney on Sunday. That extra opportunity is valuable only when a player is actually available to use it.

The league's injury register, last updated Saturday 17 October at 5 pm AEDT, is our starting point, not a substitute for final selection. Since that update, Brisbane's Raul Neto has spoken publicly about a possible Wednesday debut, and Tasmania's Dakota Mathias has played through a significant nose problem. The distinction between confirmed absence, estimated return, test, and unconfirmed game-day availability is the entire point of this report.

Brisbane: two games, three separate questions

Arnas Velička — OUT for the immediate term. The official register lists a lower-limb injury with an estimated return in Rounds 11–12. On 19 October the NBL reported he faces approximately another two months out. Brisbane's two Round 6 games do not make Velička a usable selection. In SuperCoach, assess whether your bench and trades can absorb a prolonged absence rather than counting on an imminent return.

Raul Neto — POSSIBLE DEBUT, NOT CLEARED. The 17 October register still described Neto as unavailable with Round 6 as his indicated return. The NBL's fresh 19 October report says coach Will Weaver would welcome a Wednesday debut but is leaving medical and readiness decisions to the relevant staff. The signing was announced as an injury replacement subject to league approval. Those statements are not proof he will suit up, start or play unrestricted minutes. Action: do not buy him on a presumed two-game workload. His eventual arrival could reduce Mitch Norton's primary-ball-handler opportunities, even if it helps Brisbane's offence.

Tyrell Harrison and Jacob Holt — ANKLE INJURIES; ROUND 6 STATUS UNCONFIRMED. Both exited Brisbane's 115–105 win over South East Melbourne on 15 October with ankle injuries. The AAP account describes the incidents; the 19 October NBL Neto update says Brisbane is still sweating on both big men. Neither has a verified return date in those reports. If one or both miss, Jaylin Williams' and other frontcourt players' roles warrant reassessment, but no extra minutes are guaranteed. Max Mackinnon's last outing — 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists — shows why his existing involvement matters even without inventing an injury-driven projection; those figures come from the Bullets' match report.

Adelaide: Humphries is not close to a confirmed return

Isaac Humphries — KNEE, RETURN TBC. Adelaide's basketball operations chief explained on 7 October that the club was unloading his knee and rebuilding capacity rather than rushing a comeback. The NBL's published update said surgery was not required but did not give a firm playing date. Monday's NBL report describes Adelaide as reportedly close to recruiting Mangok Mathiang as cover. That is not a confirmed signing, registration or Round 6 debut. Nick Rakocevic's current workload is therefore worth holding under review, not treating as permanently locked in.

Flynn Cameron — ANKLE, RETURN TBC. The same club briefing on 7 October estimated another four to six weeks, subject to progress; the 17 October league register retains TBC. Bul Kuol — ACL, RETURN TBC is also listed. Adelaide play one Round 6 match, at South East Melbourne on Saturday. Bryce Cotton's 35 points in the 16 October win over Tasmania reinforce his on-ball importance, but that does not turn a single fixture into two.

New Zealand and Perth: don't confuse a listed absence with a fresh medical verdict

Parker Jackson-Cartwright — LOWER LEG, RETURN TBC. The 17 October register does not provide a clearance date. The Breakers' one Round 6 game is at Cairns on Sunday. Carlin Davison's 25 assists across two Round 5 games were a meaningful short-term creation signal, confirmed by the Breakers' Round 5 recap, but his precise role could change when the backcourt is healthier. Josiah-Jordan James — HAMSTRING, Rounds 5–7 estimate and Preston Le Gassick — NECK, TBC also remain on the register. Do not label either a confirmed Sunday absence without a newer team update.

Kristian Doolittle — FOOT, RETURN TBC and Jo Lual-Acuil Jr — CALF, RETURN TBC are both on the league register. Both missed Perth's 17 October defeat to Sydney, according to the official game report. Perth host Melbourne on Friday in their only Round 6 game. Dylan Windler's 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in Sydney are verified, but managers should not assume identical usage if either missing frontcourt creator returns. Blake Nielsen — ACL, SEASON is also listed.

Melbourne, Sydney and Illawarra: the two-game availability checks

Chris Goulding — CALF, estimated Round 7 and Sean Macdonald — ACL, SEASON are the Melbourne entries in the 17 October register. Cole Anthony is not listed as injured and played in Sunday's 91–89 loss to Illawarra, recording 24 points, six rebounds and five assists in the official recap. That supports Anthony's current role, but not a promise of perfect availability for both Friday and Sunday. Melbourne have two games, and late team sheets still matter.

Matthew Dellavedova — CALF, estimated Round 7 and Keli Leaupepe — ACL, SEASON appear on Sydney's list. Dellavedova also missed Saturday's 102–81 win over Perth, in which Kendric Davis posted 23 points and eight assists and Torrey Craig 26 points and 12 rebounds, according to the NBL match report. Davis' and Craig's demonstrated roles are a stronger Round 6 foundation than assuming Dellavedova will return early. Sydney visit Illawarra and Melbourne.

Todd Blanchfield — HAND, RETURN TBC and Mason Peatling — FOOT, SEASON are the Illawarra names on the league register. Makur Maker scored 23 points in under 20 minutes against Melbourne on Sunday, but the NBL match report does not establish that his playing time has permanently expanded. Illawarra have two home games; managers should distinguish a real opening from an attractive one-night stat line.

Tasmania, Cairns and Phoenix: single-game risks still count

Dakota Mathias — PLAYED THROUGH NOSE INJURY; MONITOR. Coach Scott Roth disclosed on Monday that Mathias underwent a procedure under anaesthesia three days before Sunday's game, then scored 17 points in 36 minutes wearing a mask. The NBL's 19 October report expects him to face former club Brisbane on Wednesday. That is stronger evidence than an old injury tag, but he has not magically become risk-free. Tasmania's official injury-list entries also include Ben Ayre (hip flexor, test), Majok Deng (lower leg, estimated Rounds 8–10) and Bryce Hamilton (ACL, TBC).

Cairns: Sunday Dech (hamstring, estimated Round 8) and Jaylin Galloway (shoulder, estimated Round 6) are on the register. An estimated Round 6 return is not confirmation Galloway will play New Zealand on Sunday. South East Melbourne: Hunter Goodrick (knee, TBC) and Tanner Krebs (neck, TBC) appear on the 17 October list. Krebs' condition particularly needs a newer check after the Round 5 collision; the club's team sheet should take precedence over any old projection. Phoenix host Adelaide once.

The Round 6 SuperCoach decision, in order

First: verify Neto, Harrison and Holt before taking advantage of Brisbane's two fixtures. Second: do not use a premium on a player with a TBC return simply because his club has a double. Third: prioritise documented minutes and roles — Davis, Anthony, Mackinnon and Craig have actual recent evidence — over imagined injury windfalls. Fourth: revisit the one-game stars individually rather than selling Bryce Cotton, Sam Mennenga or Will Magnay automatically for a second fixture.

The official injury register was last updated 17 October; this article adds the confirmed 19 October reporting but does not claim to have a final Round 6 medical bulletin. Recheck the clubs' match-day selections, particularly before Tasmania–Brisbane on Wednesday. All numerical player lines here are basketball statistics, not invented SuperCoach scores, breakevens, prices or ownership percentages.
