Brisbane's biggest Round 6 question has an answer — but the minutes do not
Availability check: Tuesday 20 October 2026, approximately 9 pm Adelaide time (ACDT). The NBL has confirmed Raul Neto has been cleared to make his Brisbane Bullets debut against Tasmania on Wednesday 21 October. That is a material change from the uncertainty in Buckets' previously published Round 6 Injury Report and Fantasy Draft Waiver Wire. It is not confirmation that Neto will start, play a particular number of minutes, or appear in both Brisbane games this round.
The news comes at exactly the wrong time for managers who treated Mitch Norton's nine-assist Round 5 performance as a guaranteed two-game playmaking role. Norton remains a credible contributor, but the strongest argument for his short-term fantasy upside was the vacancy at point guard. Brisbane have now cleared an experienced replacement to fill it. The right response is to downgrade confidence in Norton's uncontested creation opportunity, not to assume he disappears from the rotation.
What Brisbane actually confirmed
The league's 20 October announcement identifies Neto as cleared for Wednesday's clash and explicitly describes him as the replacement for injured Arnas Velička. It also says Taine Murray has been cleared for his season debut after missing the first five rounds with a lower-limb injury. These are two distinct additions to Will Weaver's available options, not a single guaranteed new starting combination. The earlier 13 October signing announcement had made Neto's recruitment subject to league approval; the later clearance report is the relevant new evidence.
The same update separates Brisbane's frontcourt injuries rather than treating them as interchangeable. Tyrell Harrison is a game-time decision after an ankle injury. Jacob Holt is expected to miss five weeks with an ankle problem, with Archie Woodhill identified as his replacement in the line-up. A game-time decision is neither a confirmed absence nor a confirmed appearance. Five weeks is the club-reported expectation for Holt, not a guaranteed return date. Those distinctions should be reflected in any Round 6 team sheet or fantasy decision.
The Norton call: a real role, now with genuine competition
In Brisbane's 115–105 win over South East Melbourne on 15 October, Norton started at point guard and finished with 11 points and nine assists in his 400th NBL appearance. Max Mackinnon added 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, while Nate Hinton contributed 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. The NBL's completed match report provides the verified context: Brisbane were playing without their import point guard, and Neto had not yet arrived. Those statistics are ordinary NBL box-score totals, not SuperCoach points.
Norton's passing against Phoenix was valuable, but it was recorded in an unusual personnel situation. Neto's clearance changes that situation before the next game. Managers in Fantasy Draft should therefore reconsider Norton as a conditional short-term waiver claim rather than an uncontested lead-guard add. If he is already rostered, there is no evidence-based reason to drop him before seeing the actual rotation. If he is on waivers, compare his expected role with the confirmed opportunity of alternative available guards in your own league. Do not assume every league has the same free agents or position eligibility.
Neto himself is not an automatic premium SuperCoach selection. His NBA and international experience is relevant to the quality of the addition, but it does not establish NBL match fitness, usage, shooting volume, minutes or fantasy scoring. The clearance confirms he can make his debut; Wednesday will show how Weaver actually deploys him. Mackinnon's strong all-round involvement may coexist with Neto rather than vanish, while Hinton's defensive activity does not depend solely on handling the ball. Any more precise redistribution would be a projection without evidence.
Two fixtures are valuable only if the player actually plays
The official NBL27 fixture gives Brisbane two Round 6 road games: at Tasmania on Wednesday 21 October, 7.30 pm AEDT (7 pm Adelaide) and at Illawarra on Saturday 24 October, 5.30 pm AEDT (5 pm Adelaide). The double is a genuine SuperCoach advantage over a single-game week for a comparably productive and available player. It is not permission to assume Neto will have a full workload in both appearances, or that Harrison will be cleared for either one.
Harrison's game-time designation and Holt's expected absence also change the way managers should read Jaylin Williams' opportunity. There is a confirmed reduction in available frontcourt depth if Holt remains sidelined, but the precise centre and forward combinations depend heavily on Harrison's final status. Williams' 19 points and six rebounds against Phoenix are a useful observed baseline, not a guarantee of a new starting role or repeat output. Woodhill's inclusion in the line-up is confirmed; meaningful minutes are not.
What to do before Wednesday's tip-off
For SuperCoach, check the actual player pool, prices and scoring format before acting; no Neto price, breakeven or ownership figure is assumed here. Prioritise the confirmed clearance over an outdated injury-list estimate, but treat Neto's minutes as unknown. Harrison remains a selection watch, not a safe double-game assumption. Mackinnon and Hinton have established recent production, although their next workloads still need to be observed.
For Fantasy Draft, Neto's arrival is a material reason to lower Norton's priority if you were claiming him specifically for the vacant lead-guard role. It does not automatically make Neto available in your competition, and it does not justify dropping a reliable starter for an untested debutant. Murray's clearance creates another perimeter rotation question; it does not prove that he will take any named teammate's minutes.
Bottom line: Brisbane have resolved one uncertainty and sharpened two others. Neto is cleared, Holt faces an expected five-week absence, and Harrison remains a game-time decision. The actionable change is to stop pricing Norton's temporary playmaking lane as though Neto were still unavailable. The evidence needed next is the confirmed Wednesday line-up, actual guard-minute split and Harrison's game-day status — not an invented projection. This is a verified late-availability update to Buckets' existing Round 6 coverage, not a second edition of the six regular feature series.
