Harrison and Holt Exit With Ankle Injuries: Brisbane’s Round 6 Fantasy Double Is on Watch

Tyrell Harrison and Jacob Holt both left Brisbane’s 115–105 win over South East Melbourne with left-ankle injuries. Neither has a confirmed return timeline. With the Bullets facing Tasmania and Illawarra twice in Round 6, here is what fantasy managers can — and cannot — conclude.

Brisbane's frontcourt just became the NBL27 Round 6 injury watch

Evidence checked: Thursday 15 October 2026, approximately 10pm Adelaide time. Neither player's diagnosis, clearance date nor Round 6 selection status has been confirmed in the reports reviewed.

Brisbane finally stopped a three-game losing streak with a 115–105 victory over South East Melbourne, but the result came with a potentially much bigger problem for fantasy managers. Tyrell Harrison and Jacob Holt both left the game with left-ankle injuries, just 80 seconds apart in the final quarter. Their availability for next week's two-game Round 6 is now an important unresolved selection question — not a confirmed double absence.

The NBL's 15 October match report confirms both departures. AAP's contemporaneous account provides the sequence: Holt rolled his left ankle when he landed on Skylar Mays' foot; Harrison rolled his left ankle shortly afterwards, with 5:36 remaining. Neither report establishes the severity of either injury. An ankle roll is not automatically a sprain diagnosis, a multi-week absence or an assurance that a player will be fit by Wednesday.

Two injuries, one immediate frontcourt problem

Before exiting, Harrison had 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while Holt had 13 points and three rebounds. These are not peripheral names whose absence would be invisible to Brisbane's rotation. Harrison is the club's established centre and Holt provides another substantial interior option. Losing both for any period would require Will Weaver to redistribute size, rebounding and defensive assignments as well as minutes. Exactly how is unknown until the club provides a medical update or an actual team sheet.

The timing makes the question unusually urgent. Brisbane have two road fixtures in Round 6: Tasmania on Wednesday 21 October and Illawarra on Saturday 24 October, according to the official NBL schedule. Both games are important for SuperCoach's fixture-volume decisions, but two scheduled matches do not guarantee two appearances. A player with an uncertain ankle can be a worse double-game bet than a healthy single-game option. Managers should not convert Thursday's injury exits into a definitive out designation, either.

Who benefits if Brisbane are short inside?

Jaylin Williams is the first player to monitor for an expanded interior workload, not an automatic replacement for Harrison's role. Williams contributed 19 points and six rebounds, hitting three of five attempts from beyond the arc against the Phoenix. His shooting offers a different offensive profile from a traditional centre, and the NBL's current Brisbane roster also includes forwards Lat Mayen and Harry Rouhliadeff. Those are credible names to watch for lineup adjustments; none has been confirmed as the next starting centre. Do not assume any player's fantasy positional eligibility without checking the live game interface.

Brisbane's existing injury situation complicates the response. Arnas Velička is already sidelined and newly signed Raul Neto had not yet arrived for Thursday's match, according to the league's match report. Sam McDaniel also appears on the NBL injury register last updated 13 October. That makes the team less able to treat the frontcourt question in isolation: extra ball-handling, small lineups and defensive matchups all interact. It does not prove Weaver will use any particular small-ball five.

Mackinnon and Norton produced — but don't confuse opportunity with a forecast

The game also supplied genuine evidence of who carried Brisbane's offence without its usual import point guard. Max Mackinnon posted 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, while Mitch Norton marked his 400th NBL appearance with 11 points and nine assists. Nate Hinton added 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. Those lines are confirmed in the NBL report. Mackinnon's all-round contribution is more informative than a speculative promise that he will repeat eight assists. Norton's playmaking matters for deep Draft leagues, but Neto's eventual arrival could alter his minutes.

For SuperCoach, the immediate action is to hold off on an injury-driven trade until there is a club update. Harrison owners need a confirmed prognosis, not a headline that turns an in-game exit into a long absence. Managers considering Williams, Mayen or Rouhliadeff need to know who actually starts and who closes when Brisbane face Tasmania. For Fantasy Draft, check whether an apparent beneficiary is genuinely available in your own league and identify the specific player you would drop. No player is universally on waivers, and Thursday's scoreline cannot establish future prices, breakevens or ownership.

The next evidence that matters

There are three separate checks before Wednesday's tip-off: (1) a Brisbane medical statement distinguishing Harrison and Holt, (2) the next updated league injury list, and (3) the confirmed travelling roster and starting lineup. If one big is cleared, the fantasy opportunity is materially different from a scenario where both sit. If both play, Thursday's dramatic exits may prove to have little Round 6 effect. If neither plays, Williams and Brisbane's forward rotation become more interesting, but the allocation of minutes still has to be observed.

The defensible conclusion on 15 October is narrow and useful: Brisbane's Round 6 frontcourt has become a high-priority injury watch. The severity is unconfirmed, the replacement roles are unassigned and the two-game schedule makes getting those distinctions right more valuable than guessing early.
